kjet fuel system
hello ive got a mk1 caddy pickup that has had the engine replaced with a mk1/2 golf k jetronic 8v 1.8 engine. it has always had starting problems since i bought it mainly when the engine is hot, so today i had a look under the car to check the fuel pump check valve as stated in other posts, i belive this is working correctly.but next to the fuel filter is a black box with 4 fuel lines that have been chooped off and disconnected from the fuel system. does anyone know what this could be? could it be the accumulator? :dontknow: any help appreciated cheers james

The accumulator is a round jobby - looks like this (hopefully not as crusty): -
The square thing you're looking at might be from the diesel fuel system, although I'm not sure.
Hot start problems could also be due to leaky injectors - have you looked at those yet?
