Janspeed 4-2-1 Manifold on ebay.

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new manifold. While looking at the usual suspects.

Supersprint, ashley, gwerks and dubpower I have come across one from janspeed on ebay which looks good but I did a quick search and found very little information. It's not even listed on Janspeed's website.

Has any one seen one or know what fitment is like. The price looks very reasonable to say the least.

All i can say is i assume they will be exactly the same as the Hot-tuning one's that are on Ebay, just because I know the Janspeed coilovers on Ebay are exactly the same as The Hot-tuning one's. Only an assumption of course but if that's the case then i imagine the Hot-tuning would be cheaper and more worthwhile getting, if it's any good of course.

hot tuning

I have bought a manifold from Hot tuning and although it fits a treat to the head, the part that connects to the centre box gets right in the way of the gearbox.

I bought a Magnex middle/back box which matched up perfectly to my original. The problem is I think the manifold is too long.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get around this….I would welcome it. I'll try and get some pictures of it.

I fitted a brand new janspeed manifold and system to one of mine way back in 1989, as far as i remember it fitted perfectly and janspeed did use to have a good reputation.

Hot tuning have been in touch after I queried it and they MIGHT have given me the wrong one. They say they do a shorter one for the Cabriolet.

Got to take some pictures and send them to Hot Tuning.

Watch this space!

The saga continues!

Hot tuning have sent me a replacement exhaust (for the cabriolet!)
It fits ok now but now the centre and back box does not sit correctly for the hangers and if I bodge it, its going to clang the heat guards between the rear beam and guard.

Now the question is: Is the convertable exhaust system different to the tintop?

I have already learnt a valuble lesson that the manifold is longer for the tintop than convertable.

If anyone has any ideas or info on where to get a correct fitting middle/back box FOR A CONVERTABLE then let me know.

To that, I will be selling my powerflow middle/back box exhaust soon so keep an eye out (its no good to me anymore!)

Ok update.

I have now had a problem with the powerflow middle and back box. I could chop it and reweld but why ruin a perfectly good system when I can buy another.

This is a made by Pipex and should be with me by the end of the week.
The only difference I can see is the boxes are smaller and cylindrical not oval.

will keep you informed on progress
