Inlet manifold compatibility

Hi folks, this is probably a very simple question or all you experts, I have an 89 1.8 cabriolet GTI i think DX engine code, that has a damaged inlet manifold, clutch cable over the top and grooved the body etc, would a 1.6 GTI inlet manifold be ok, seem to recall from years ago engines pretty similar but just different stroke, mines a 049 133 223 MBF7 16, Cheers

yeah it should fit, just swap the cabby throttle body over if its different
some of the vacuum connections might be a bit different though
