I need help!!! (please)

Hi Everybody,

I have a 1.5 1982 Cabriolet and have been searching for a new carb. for a while as Weber have stopped making the replacement for the Pierburg 1B3, and I haven't been able to get a new Weber through CrazyQuiffs or FastRoadCars, and I recently just missed out on Arron's 2nd hand one after he decided to keep his for his new project.

I have managed to get a 1b3 for now which should arrive soon but in the meantime I know it coud be a while before another Weber comes up. :banghead:

CrazyQuiff mentioned a solution using a 1600 carb and a modified manifold, but as he is in Oxford and I'm in Lancashire, I was wondering if anybody a bit closer to home had done this before, or if anybody has any advice for me- all will be gratefully received.

Lynsey.

Whatalotofun, Sorry i am late boss, jusk clocked in

if you cannot get a 36tlp for 1.5, you could sure use a 1600 aslong as it as already been jetted for a 1.5, is crazyquiff offering you this as i have never had to change jets as not come across this problem.
Modified manifold? if he is going to rejet the 1600 32/34dtml carb for your 1.5 all you would need is an inlet manifold from a earlier 1600 without the water outlet on the manifold.
Difference in manifolds is your current one has a small 'O' ring type and it bolt via 2 bolts, wheres as on 1.6 after 1980 it is rectangular type, so you will also need the carb flange for that also, apart from that remove original manifold and fit that one mentioned and carb from crazyquiff
If you can get the above mentioned parts from richard aka Crazyquiff, depending where you are i'll fit it for you
