How to get to fuel pump?
So I'm a divvy and I don't have a Haynes manual… 8) I'm thinking of checking and clearing out my fuel tank this weekend (just for fun like!) and also wanted to check the little filters on the fuel pump. The only problem is I have no idea where the fuel pump is! Can anyone tell me where it is and how to get to it please?
Cheers 'n that.

If its a GTI then its to the right of the fuel tank. You need to remove the axle to get the tank out, by the way. Yes, fuel will come out of the tank if you remove the pump, but it will need draining anyway?

You're joking?! I have to jack the car up, remove an axel and the fuel tank just to get to the pump?!

No (you can get the pump out without the tank removed) but to properly clean the tank out, it will need to be removed from the car.

Ah ok, thanks. There's not actually anything wrong with it at the moment I just wanted to fiddle. I'll save that task for a rainy day!

Ok so the car is hopefully back on the road this weekend but i've noticed the fuel pump is a little noisy. While the fuel tank is emptyish I want to check and clear the pump filters, but I really need someone to tell me exactly where it is, and what it looks like. Assuming I'm lying on my back underneath the car, with my feet at the engine end and my head up under the rear seats, where would the pump be?
