how do i change the fuel pump

fuel pump has gone on my 1990 gti cabriolet does any1 know how to change it and where it is situated?
advice most appriciated

Hi I have moved this post to the right section where you will get better answers but i have changed mine on my cabby

the main pump is located on the drivers side just before the rear wheel if you look just the other side of the sill you will see it tucked up there its housed in a rubber gator to protect it next to it you will see the accumulator now there is another fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank

to change the main pump isn't that hard a job you will need a pair if grips to squeeze the rubber fuel pipe that feeds the pump otherwise you will empty your tank on your drive :redfaced:  just by looking how it fits will show you how to change it should take about 45 mins depending if the bolts are easy
