Done it a few times. Its not too much of a struggle but the rear (dead) axle needs to come out. If its bolts are seized, eg the bolts at the front/sides or the lower shock bolts, it becomes a time consuming engineering project! If not (and there's good techniques to prevent problems here) then you'll be okay. Try to run down the tank into the red area, otherwise you'll have to try and store loads of petrol, even if you run it right down there's still 5 litres or so in there to do something with.

As Paul says pretty much bolt off/on stuff.

The fuel filler is prob the source of the rust, that will need replacing. Some then get inside the tank via the inspection plate/fuel sender under rear seat and suck out any rust/debris/water in the tank.

If you are removing the tank the exhaust, hand brake cables and brake pipes need to come off and are often rusted solid and end up needing to be replaced.

You need to lift rear of car. Be very careful of shearing the 4 studs that hold the axle to the car, wire brush, run old nut down with a slot cut in it, spray with relase fluid, wire brush until shiney, spray with oil. I think in past I've left the lower shock bolts in and there is enough room to slide tank out.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.
