Hot Starting!

hi! can anyone give any advice on cureing my `hot start` niggle!….my `87 mk1 cab. has been tuned and runs perfectly smoothly , no flat spots etc but when its been run for a while and then parked for 20 ish mins it can be a pig to start, once started runs perfectly , have renewed plugs, leads, coil, cap, rotor  even fixed a large magnet to the fuel tank to hold any debris from a recent fuel neck renewal! :banghead: …hope you can help……..Stuart

If it's a GTI, Hall sender in the dizzy.
Had exactly the same prob, replaced the sender - perfect starting since. Might be better or cheaper to replace the dizzy complete, cost me ?70 for the repair at an autoelectrician's !!!!

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

1989 Mk1 Clipper 1.8 automatic - Sadly now up for sale - medical issues dictate)

1999 (Nov) Passat S Saloon 1.9 TDI (AFN) - TUG 1 (Remap by CCC ( - **** …..change pants !!) with cruise control

2000 (Mar) Passat Sport Estate 1.9 TDI (ATJ) 5 speed automatic with Tiptronic - TUG 2 (Remap and cruise control by CCC)
