My fuel pump is not kicking in!! i have changed it and the relay and coil pack now wen i turn it over smoke is coming from the fuse box!!!! is my fuse box needing to be changed????

smoke is bad mmkay? you need to get under there and look, we cant tell you what needs replacing as we cant see the damage

hi
ive checked and cant see anythin out of place.it didnt smoke until i changed the fuel pump relay

Did this car run before, with the old pump in or have you bought it as a project and never had it running?
Is the new relay deffinately the same as the old one and did you put it back in the same slot?

no it never ran b4 it had standerd 1.8i witch i took out and put a recon one in its place the car had been sat up for a long time im thinking mayb the fuse box has got wet or mayb thats y it has been put off the road

Yes - I don't think you changing the relay is the issue, it has an old problem that you need to identify.

im pretty sure its the fuse box ive heard these are common on golfs to go wrong.
