Gti manifold onto a non gti engine??

Hi guys quick question……. will this 1.6/1.8 gti manifold ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK1-1-6-1-8-GTI-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-/260771084867?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb72afa43) fit a 1.6 Carbed engined golf??

No, but the whole exhaust system including the manifold would transfer over. The GTI manifold is a slightly bigger diameter than lower models. Also, there's 2 types of fitting - 6 bolt and C clip. You need to physically look at your car to see which type of fitment you have, and get the right manifold/downpipe.

Basically the down pipe that is on my golf is the 6 bolt one which needs replacing I bought a gti one thinking it would fit BUT it's larger and wont bolt up, and as far as i can see no one sells it…..
So what you are saying is that the gti manifold would bolt on but I would have to change the whole exhaust system for a gti one (which I would not mind) ??
