Golf 1.5 carb no fuel coming through.

I'm having a lot of problems with my car. A couple of months back it started cutting out as I was driving. Over about a week this got worse and worse until it wouldn't start at all. And after looking it appeared that no fuel was coming through the inline fuel filter. 

Everything was a bit crusty underneath so I have changed everything - new filler neck, tank, fuel lines, fuel filter, stripped and cleaned the carb. And still no fuel coming through. I'm starting to lose my patience with it all now it's been months. 

Any ideas of what it could be? Or what to try next? Many thanks.

Have you checked the fuel pump?

Yes have also replaced fuel pump
