Fuel tank problems

Right, after a new pump, various filters, having the carb off and looked at (its fine), the tanks after for rust and the sender out to clear, even running it at turnover at c.1200rpm to see if I could suck it through/just keep it from its sporadic stalling….its still happening…stuttering stalling and head bangingcf_emoticons__BangHead: I've also done the HTS, plugs, dizzie cap as I thought it could've been the ignition.
The filter I've now taken to changing filter everytime it happens (sometimes to success if enough crud is in it) but tonight, only way to get it going was to pull the sender out and blow the blockage out….didn't see anything come out but it freed it up.
So now, aside from the changing of the vapour seperator which is on its way (just another 'cheap, fix…), to me the next option option to flush the tank of the crud and possibly seal it or a new tank.
I'm thinking the flush and seal as I'm running out of funds and just want to enjoy it- bought it 3 weeks ago and its been painful. Has anyone got any advice on doing this (may be a garage job as I've no garage), products (fosters treatment I've been told maybe a good'un) and any other pointers would be great.
Other question is, should I get the filler done at the same time?
Thanks for your help.

If your running low on funds I'd flush it and see where you stand. I would look what condition the filler is in definitely!

Thanks Brad - I'm in Bristol.
Yep, thinking the same…shouldn't be too much work even if I get the garage to do it…just want to be able to enjoy it!

Hi all, i seem to have the same problem with my 1990 clipper cab auto, have also changed fuel pump, dizzie, carb, breather pipe, i' ve been told the tank and sender unit need sorting, would been keen to get feedback on your progress with prob as i also am running outta funds but just wanna enjoy the little motor especially as summer is coming!!!!
Hello
Today had mine back in the garage and had the carb off, cleaned and the jets blown through….it's been fine all day.
I changed the tank and think the grit had slowly been building up and the carb was choking itself up. I tried spraying carb cleaner and also having a poke round the top, but I couldn't recommend enough getting someone to look at it that knows their stuff and then setting it up.
Fingers crossed I can start enjoying mine now

I've noticed today my fuel tank leaking on the seam looks rusty, can I fix this without dropping the tank with some sort of filler or is it best to replace tank?if its that bad on outside wots it like inside! I only found this as went for mot today and I had to change rear brake hose, but that's another story, not sure how garage missed it though.
Any help most apriceiated.
Thanks
Mark
Mate- probably not the best person to ask but if it was me, and the sake of it, I'd drop the tank and replace piece of mind mainly.
