fuel system running wrong way on a cabby gti 85 k-jet

had the car off he road 3 weeks now. took it to a garage as it was beyond me and hes given up!!!!!!!
problem is no fuel pressure. and the fuel is running up the return line???
car ran like a bag of crap before it was a no go (like the rotor cap or arm  was knacked).
anyone had this problem befor its beyond everyone ive took it too and running outta ideas now please help somebody!!!!!!

Accumulator ??

sounds liek metering head fault to me. there is a pressure valve which dumps excess fuel pressure back to tank, if this has failed open then it would cause this.

get the fuel pressures checked with a proper set of k-jet fuel pressure gauges, otherwise you're just pissing into the wind

had a talk with the mechanic and he said theres no fuel reaching the metering head. he had it all apart and checked it all but no joy. its flowing toward the engine out the return pipe.  hes checked the return pipe on the metering head that runs back to the tank and all the fuel squrited out of the other end :/
made him think that the pipes on the fuel pipe were
reversed or the polatity but it wasnt. got it booked in a vw specialist now to see what they think but aint holding out much hope at the moment

maybe the in-tank lift pump has been wired up backwards
