Fuel Sender Wiring

Post

Hi guys,

just changed my fuel sender to one from a g40. My question is, what's the best solution for the electrical plug as the old one is 2 pin but the new pump has a 3 pin connector, I'm assuming I need to source a 3 pin plug, I'm just unsure how or where to splice in the 3rd wire. Would it go to the fuel pump relay? I'm terrible with wiring.

Help would be appreciated

thanks

yes the 3rd wire is power for lift pump, just splice it to the power wire for the main pump simples. the plug itself is on post-84 cab and rocco, also found on pre-90 mk2 golf gti lift pump. all mk2 golfs have them in the engine bay too for the headlight adjuster motors, plus loads of other vw/seat/audi have em in various places.

you'll just have to work out what pin is which on the lifter pump with a bit of detective work ;)
