Fuel pump???????

Hey people been having problems with the golf starts fine runs fine but when stopping or accelerating the fuel pump gets louder and jumps around and cuts out. The question is though is there a second fuel pump in the tank "a lifter pump" I know there is an inline pump as I have had to change it. I have seen them advertised but I ask my local garage and they said there wasn't one in the tank. Any input would be fantastic

nope there only one pump

have you checked the tank and filler neck for rust as this will cause problems with your pump

depends how old it is, if its 83 or eearlier just the 1 pump under the car. if its a later cabby these had a in-tank pump as well
