Fuel Pump relay Bridge
2 weeks ago my GTi cut out going along a dual carriageway, i ended up having to push it along to a bus stop about 150m along the road 8O .
Anyway, it seemed similar to when my fuel pump relay was packing in, so i removed the relay and it was full of water. 8O .
I dried out the relay at work that day and the car got me home that night, but would not start in the morning.
I'm fairly sure that it is going to be the relay but before splashing cash on a new one, i would like to make sure the car starts when i by-pass the relay with a link. (if its that easy!!)
I'm guessing its a link between the 2 large terminals on the relay but would rather have this confirmed before i try it.
Cheers,
Cam80.

You need to fix the water leak and also the relay/fuse board might be damaged if its been wet. :dontknow:

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Finding the leak will be the biggest problem (hopefully, fuel issue easy to find). I think it's behind the dash somewhere, thought it was weird to have the FP relay filled with water but the drivers side footwell is the one which is usually wet? :dontknow: Unless the water has run along the bar behind the dash. It needs to be found anyway.
The injector test link was superb.
Thanks again,
Craig.

If it is the scuttle it's a window out job and then either some sanding, rust treating, filling and painting or welding a new section in depending on how extensive the damage is…
