my car is a golf mk2 gti 8v soft top
I need to get a new fuel pump and im not sure if i have the right one can you guys let me know at all?

Too hard to say from what you said your car is.
First picture is a Digifant pump. If you have CIS of any form it will not work, size or pressure. Second picture is the transfer pump (in-tank, lift pump) for a mk2 Golf/Jetta. Next is a CE2 relay panel and the last is a CE1 relay panel. Difference would be the year and model you have which really creates a problem. VW never made any mk2 cabriolets (rag tops, soft tops, convertables). The mk1 was the only one until around 93', the A2 (mk2) was skipped for that model.

sorry dude it is a mk 1 golf (Typ 155) my mistake!!!!
Ive worked out i have the correct fuse box ordered from ebay but not sure which main fuel pump i would need. I know i dont need the one that fits inside the tank can any one help?

You need this pump:

There are other suppliers other than Bosch, and they are almost all much less expensive. You can also find them at the scrappers as well. Just find a CIS MKI with an injected 8V and you are in business.
Truth be told, you can use any 12V electric fuel pump that can manage 50 to 75 psi discharge pressure (the Bosch K fuel pressure regulator will take care of the fuel pressue in the injection system).
Be sure it's not the in-tank pump you need. These buggers go bad five times more often than the main charge pump. If you run the tank dry they die a little bit each time, and won't last long if they run dry for any amount of time. You can use almost any MKI or MKII in-tank pump, you just can't use the in tank carrier from a MKII - just swap the pumps over to your carrier.

That will probably work. It does need a check valve. Most pumps have them either built in or in the connection fitting on the discharge end.

The ad says that the outlet is a 12mm banjo stud, that would indicate the check valve is present. The banjo stud is part of the check valve, but if it is something else screwed in to the pump, then you can either use your old one or buy a new one from the dealer or even at a scrap yard maybe.
