Fuel filler neck

As above, are all pattern fuel filler neck the same?

I bought one that was a hadrians panels item and the fit is diabolical, it's not even worth its weight in scrap metal!

I remember crazyquiff listed filler necks that were zinc plated / steel anodised and they were stated as having been made by the oe supplier but thee are no longer listed on his website.

Does anyone know anywhere that sells filler necks that actually fit properly?

I think pattern parts are generally rubbish… I've had problems with the one's I've had to use.

What car is it? Tin top or cabrio?

I'm looking for a cabby one at present.  

I need one for my 1980 gti tin top.

I did buy a pattern one, the holes didn't line up, the filler face would not sit flat against the inside of the panel and the other end pointed to the ground too much which meant it need to be bent and bashed around just to be vaguely put in place.

The pattern filler necks are absolute crap!

I have contacted ATP panels in Germany to ask if their filler necks fit properly (asked if they can guarantee this to me) but I suspect they probably just get them from the same factory as Hadrian panels

vw list "171 201 129 N" as still being available as a genuine part, does anyone know what this fits?

thats what i thought but i just wanted to be sure

late cabby, pre84-5ish they're the same as a tintop

Last one i bought was from crazyquiff,pretty decent fit really.
