Fitting an exhaust..what will i need?

Hi, i am a Real newb not only to volkswagens, but to working on cars in general, now thankfully i am part of a little local forum with very helpful members, but i thought id just ask on here too, i need to know

im going to be replacing, the Down pipe, middle pipe and back box on my

5 door mk1 1.5 petrol

now wil i need a fitting kit to use with the down pipe or is there an origional that i can use?

if not, where can i buy one in a hurry…i really want to get this car on the road

Depends on the manifold, but if its a 6 bolt then a gasket is handy to replace; and if the C-clip version, a new O ring seal. Neither are essential, although they are good workshop practice to fit too. The other joins are U clamps, I don't know about yours but on all the Mk1 Golfs I've seen, they tend to be in reasonable condition and can be re-used.

i wouldnt buy anything liek that from halfords, try:
