Filter in Banjo bolt on fuel line

I read somewhere that the filter in the banjo bolt connecting the fuel line to the metering head was supposed to be removed at PDI or first service but a lot were forgotten about.  Has anyone succesfully removed it from the bolt?  Its seems fairly fixed in

just change bolt for one without a filter in it
