Exhausts & Exhaust Systems?

I am in need of some help in regards to exhausts so hear goes.

I have an E registered 1988 GTi Cabriolet (and love her to bits and my 4th one may i add).
I was wondering if the back box from a mk 1 tin top golf gti fits directly onto a cabrio or are there slight differences?

All help will be greatfull as thinking of a sports back box/system and would like this clarifyed before buying.

Different mate, if you have a look on e-bay you will find pics of both.

Routes same just hangers in different places. I cut mine off and re welded em in right place. I did mine cabby to tin top may I add.
