Exhaust

Can anybody tell me whether an exhaust from a GTI MK1 will fit on to a MK1 clipper?  :dontknow:

I have a standard system on there at the mo but looking to change to a stainless steel system. I know somebody who has a system from a mk1 gti but I am unsure of these are the same fitment.

pretty sure they're the same.. can any cabby owners confirm?

recall looking at the supersprint system (mine broke on sunday  :cry: ) listing and they only listed one part number for the Mk1, well… couple for the different styles but that was it

The one I have been looking at to replace with standard system is the Magnex system - is this any good?

I've seen a few Mk1's with them and they look the part, not heard one though

Later cabs with big bumpers have a different system, but I think all the others are the same as the hatchback.

The differences to check for are the mounting hangers on the back box and centre section, and the bend on the tail pipe will be different for big bumper cars.
Early exhausts have 2 hangers at the rear of the centre section and later ones have the 2 hangers on the backbox instead.

The down pipes will probably be different as from late '83 the C clip type fitting was phased in to replaced the stud type fitment.

I'm pretty sure these are the only differences?
