Exhaust make much difference?

im kind of low on money at the moment and wondering (as i have NO exhaust still)
if it actually makes that much difference having an aftermarket one or a standard one? not worried about noise, as at the moment i have just raw engine noise coming out, but something quiet would be nice.

Got one from K'fit in desperation some time ago and it was good, lasted ages. The previous owner of my GTI fitted one of the same (got the receipt) ages before it was left at the back of a garage sales forecourt for 4 years….and it only now needs replacing (already got an Earnst replacement) and it's been good, and reasonably quiet.

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

i hear they are the best out, the powerflow system i have at the moment got rated the worst. well the centre pipe, as i still have no backbox, will be expensive but probably worth hearing it, when done. but i will post

Is it the Group A system you are going for or the road going version? Mild or stainless?

i havent found a back box i like so am no longer getting a SuperSprint System, i like the magnum but 100mm is far too large for it, i want a 3" outward rolled pipe, or like on german show cars, a chrome pipe would be ideal.
so looks like next wednesday ill be getting a rubbish system from powerflow for ?200.

Powerflow are quite good - brother has one on his mk1 16v - sounds very old skool and it made a difference - im looking at a mongoose system for mine as it comes ready made and looks good stainless steel too..

also had a powerflow on my old polo - never had any trouble… guess its the guys whos making it who decides on quality…
