exhaust clamp thingy tool

hey there, im after the tool you use to spread the clamps open on the downpipes, ive been surfing through the old topics as i know somewhere somebody posted it up where to get them of a website.
and can i find the topic!! :banghead:
surely someone can point me in the right direction,

cool, the next thing im going to ask is….
do you do it when the manifold and downpipe is on the car? or when there both of the car? if u know what i mean?

can you get the tool in easy enough or is it better undoing the manifold and taking it of complete with the downpipe and then removing them when there of the car?

You can use the tool when everythings on the car. There should be a heat shield on the downpipe which I'm sure can be left on at the same time as removal too. I must confess I havent used the tool I've bought but probably will do soon!

You need to take the shield off of the drive shaft, which is easy , but even with the tool you will have fun and games, but it is about the only way you are going to get them on and off, keep at it it does work. i bought mine from toolbay

getting them of wernt to much of a bother as i have new c clips anway, dont care about the rest of the engine bay and engine as i am scraping it so got out my huge prybar and a hammer smack twang one of …smack smack twang ouch that hit me :lol:  but thats the 2nd one of

defo going to get one to put them back on though

good idea, will have to try that, no way i'm paying ?30 for a tool i'll only use once or twice! (have done that enough times, lol)

the exhaust clamp idea is genius, it helped me no end….so today i managed to fit my exhaust and coilovers! :lol:
