stupid question maybe but am i right in thinking that the exhaust from a 1.8 gti cabby will not fit a 1.8 gti tin top?

Depends on the year. A late Clipper Cabby wont fit.

as above, from around 1984 they changed shape at the back. manifold and downpipe from any year will fit though
