cutung out after 10mins

please help mk1 1.6 caby auto 1985
im driving for ten mins then cuts out ,ill stop wait a few mins and off she goes for another few miles any ideas peps

Sounds like a text book example of what happens when you have muck in the tank.

Check fuel filler is sound and remove access cover under rear seat and then tank sender and look inside tank with a torch.

could be carb icing, it gets worse with dampness rather than just being cold out. check warm air feed pipe is there, vac hoses all connected and the metal shroud the exhaust manifold is fitted. oh and check the warm air diverter flap actually opens when engine running
