Cleaning out fuel tank tips please

Have got some cr~p in the fuel tank on the good lady's 1.5 auto. Been thru old posts and advice but am limited on facilities to do this. Can i put the front of the car on ramps and let the rmainder of the fuel drain out by seperating the filler neck and rubber on the tank . Then as the car is leaning backwards so to speak, wash some fuel thru the tank to get rid of most of the cr P ?? Only i have no no other method in mind can someone give any tips please??  8O  Cheers,stu

You will need to remove the tank to flush it through.

Not done it myself (I removed tank as Dubboy suggests) but there is a thread somewhere on here using an airline to 'suck' out the crud/dirty petrol via the inspection/fuel level sender hole.

If removing tank it involves lots of potentially rusted soild exhaust pipes, brake pipes, hand brake cables, shock absorbders, and axle mounting studs.
