Carburetor faulty?

Hi

I recently purchased a 1995 VW Citigolf 1.6 (carb). These cars are basicly MK1 Golf`s that was manufactured alongside MK2 through to MK5 Golf`s in South Africa until 2009 as a cheap alternative to the dearer Golf`s of the era.
The problem I experience is that as soon as the car reach operating temp and I close the manual choke, the car becomes a bit hesitant under normal acceleration. As soon as I open the choke a bit, it accelerates smooth again. Nothing wrong when it idles. I cleaned the carb already. Any suggestions?
Many thanks.

sounds liek it just needs a tuneup to me, but first check for air leaks. the seal between the carb and the inlet is a prime suspect
