bike carb manifold vacuum

just drilled my bike carb manifold for tapping each runner for vacuum take offs.

the take off's im screwing in sticks out inside the runner does this matter ? or should i screw it back out so it sits flush with the inside of the runner

Think they should be smooth with the inside of the runner,
