ARGH! Mk1 GTi starting probs!

Alright, im sure youve heard it a thousand times, but im having probs starting my Mk1. After cold night, it will start fine. A few cranks and she starts.
If i drive her to the shops, she gets warm, i park, and go back, then she will kick once upon trying to start her, and then just turn over and over.. Eventually she will start, but not before ive got a flat battery.
Ive cleaned all of the injectors (which were replaced last year) and replaced the injector seals. I havent touched the cold start injector though. I beleive it to be flooding. Im tempted to go get some new plugs and leads to help, but it doesnt solve the problem, just makes it easier to overcome!
It is also running rich, i beleive. How do i adjust this, but it has got a lairy cam in a 1600 so idle is lumpy….
Thanks for your help guys

Steve

Do all the obvious things first as you`ve stated dubber91.

Spark plugs, spark leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, cold start valve and possibly check your earth`s, as this may be causing your mystery starting issues??  :dontknow:

Stay out of the black…
 And into the red….
You get nothing in this game for 2 in a bed!

We talking about the same thing? 5th injector located on the left side of the inlet manifold with one fuel line and an electric connection.

If it is stuck open it will pi$$ fuel into your inlet manifold and it won't make much difference whether you unplug it or not but I have never heard of that as a problem?

Any of your injectors could be causing the problem really. It's just the 5th one is fairly easy to test for.
