abf conversion fueling

Hi all,

In the process of an 2.0 16v  abf conversion to a mk1 golf golf clipper (ex carb). I have fitted a new tank and have a mk3 polo lift pump along with the undercar mk3 polo fuel pump & bracket. I have been reading on here that I need to have an under car fuel reservoir. This is going to sound really daft but what does one of these look like, where would I get one from new or second hand and where would it fit to? I thought the mk3 polo pump had one (the little white box behind the filter) but have been told that it is actually an accumulator. Getting a little stumpped by it now. So to clarify;

Would the mk3 under car pump be sufficient for the abf
What does a fuel reservoir look like, fit to?
Where would I get one from

Any help or adivse appriciated.

Cheers

The reservoir is a funny one.
No one seemed to know what I was going on about when I was hunting one.
There is a pic of it on my build thread.
It's titled

Marsred cab 16v conversion

Or something very similar
I think your mk3 polo pump will work but as I understand you do need the reservoir.

Just hunt one 2nd hand on eBay
I just kept looking for around 3 months until a complete fuel delivery system turned up

Any issues on the conversion give me a shout as I may be able to help with a lot of it

its a psquare plastic reervoir, fitted to post-84 cabrio/rocco injection and all g40 shape polos. it has 4 outlets on it, vw still sell new or did up to recently.

for the main pump it has to be a GT or G40 pump, the SPI pumps from poverty spec are not good enough.

if you have access to the polo still it has a nice part that holds the pump, filter and reservoir so can be usefull for your conversion
