Iv noticed a parp parp parp parp parping noise coming from my exhaust..iv only just brought my 1st mk1 golf and iv looked underneath and the exhaust is real rusty. how much would a new complete exhaust system be?and any recommendations? or is there an easier way to simply cover the hole in ym exhaust.? thanks leeisababemagnet@hotmail.com

You have 2 choices:

1. Buy the exhaust yourself and try fit it. Its a bit of a pain, what with seized connections and being under the car, and also the route it takes means that when the clamps are not tight, it doesn't sit properly, sags, and this will lead to it knocking on the rear axle. You need to raise the car quite high to swing the exhaust under the car and around the axles, etc.

2. Go to a local exhaust/fast fit place (avoid Kwik Fit, I've head a lot of bad things about them) and they'll probably do it for cheaper than you sourced the exhaust!
