83 gti fuel hoses

Alright guys, I'm in process of selling my girl and I wanted to replace the fuel hoses that run from the pump upto to ridged lines and the return hose that runs from the same place but into the return. Am I right in guessing it's 10mm hose? And am I right in thi king it's pretty straight forward unless you get on the sunshine bus?

this could turn it to a nightmare job , if its not leaking allready or smelling of fuel , just leave it . If you do want to change it crazyquiff does the Correct pipe with correct joints to witht-stand the 5bar fuel pressure

Well I'd rather not leave it as I don't want to sell the car with perishes hoses! Surely it can't be that hard? Other than 10mm fuel
Hose what else do I need? And I'd love to order from crazyquiffs but I'm bot paying 3 times te money for something thyself available in ever motor factor in the land! What else is needed apart from te hose?

And I just looked on crazyquiffs and unless it's the 68 ponyd hose kit they don't do it. Lol 68 quid! It's 6quid a metre at Gsf/camberley ect

ive being there a few times on various gtis & using bits of pipe jubilee clips etc doesn't work Long-term on fuel under 5 bar pressure, if the car hasn't being worked on that area for years all the fittings fuel pump basket & mounts will probably be rusted etc & the fuel accum fittings will probably rusted/seized as well , yip obviously if its leaking you have to get it fixed

I just did it on my cabby…and yes it was a nightmare!!!  I cannot exactly remember the sizes, but I'm sure one side has 12mm hosing with an adapter (forgotten the proper name for then) to an 8mm hosing section.  The 12mm had to be stretched as there wasn't an adapter from 8mm to the fuel pump size (14mm maybe?).  Currently it seems to be running ok…not perfect but I'm hoping that's the sparks and ht leads…time will tell

Well it's running at the mo, but will get some people to have a look at the agm and see if it's worth changing the setup.  I'll give you a shout though if I do need them.  See you sold the headlight loom!?

No worries, sold the loom as I never got round to fitting and i've broken the car is it was a bit rotten!
