16v Manifold for MK1 conversion - Rocco??

Hi,

For 16v MK1 conversion I was planning on getting a supersprint or ashley manifold. I have been offered a Rocco 16v manifold (inlet and exhaust) and was wondering if anyone has used this instead and if so what exactly should I be buying and any idea of cost?

They are a good option and pretty rare these days (the exhaust manifold especially). Get it before someone else does! And the inlet manifold allows you to keep the metering head and airbox in the original position. And allows you to install a turbo or supercharger too! 8)

16V Sciroccos are particularly rare in the UK, if you have the opportunity to buy the inlet and exhaust manifolds, Id jump at it! Using these manifolds in a Golf Mk1 leads to arguably a technically better install. Even if you don't eventually use them, you'd have no trouble selling them on.

Thanks Paul.

What in your opinion is a fair price to pay ?

Can somebody care to explain, why do I need Rocco 16v exhaust manifold or supersprint/yadayada for ? Even if I plan DIY fully custom built exhaust system ? Oh yeah, my car is LHD :)

I'm in the middle of planting KR into a mk1 GTi, engine is in, but I havn't testfitted KR exhaust manifold yet.

Rocco inlet manifold is nice option for lazy ones like me :)

the 16v was never design to fit in a mk1. so the exhaust manifold fits the exhaust roue on the mk2 but not the mk1. remember the head is wider than an 8v. i think it can be used but it's alot of hassle and bodging of the downpipe

Which is wy the rocco 16v exhaust manifold is often used - as this was designed to fit in a mk1 (in effect anyway - same layout as scirocco).
