16v fuel pump replacement

Hi guys,

Went to re-furb my mk2 1.8 16v KR fuel pump for my caddy earlier and on closer inspection the thing is rotted through!

Im in desperate need of a pump as the caddy goes into the garage on friday!
Whats the best replacement pump other than another 2nd hand replacement?

Id rather buy a new replacement aftermarket one
But i have no idea what pressure it should run at? etc etc

Ive seen facet ones like this -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/…A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

which run 4.5-7 psi

and ones like this -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/…A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

 which run 7-8 psi?

Will one like that work just like that, or do I need an accumulator etc??
As you can probably tell its not one of my strongest subjects haha
Any other 16v people out there running a non standard set up?

Cheers for any help guys

I'd use the standard (K-Jet) fuel pump , although of course it will depend on how you've plumbed in your fuel system into your caddy. Do you have any more details? How have you gotten around extracting the fuel from the tank?

I had a feeling someone was going to say keep with the standard unit.
The caddy tank is gravity fed as the outlets are at the very bottom of the tank, of the people I know who have done 16v conversions theyve had no problems with fuel starvation on the standard pump.

So if I have to used a standard pump, is there any other pumps that will be match off other vag cars? Any mk3's etc
