HEEEELLLPPP. please, got a 1982 1.6gti,been stood for 9 yrs. done all the usual things, cleaned tank and fuel lines, new fuel, new filter, fresh injectors and seals(correct spray pattern)good fuel pressure, cold start injector firing, fresh coil, new leads, dizzy cap, rotor, plugs, timing looks right, tdc on #1 and rotor at 1 oclock, firing order 1-3-4-2.has spark but a bit weak, good compression on 1,2-3,but 4 is down(shoulnt matter much?) tried starting off new battery and boost and a bump but nothing, not so much as a pop or a fart. Any ideas or am i missing something really simple. any help would be appreciated or point me in the direction of someone in the northwest that can have a look for me. I'd try tow starting it, could be lack of oil pressure up top for the tappets, tow it about in 2nd or 3rd, she might come to life eventually. If you have fuel at all 4 injectors and a spark, providing the timings def not out, there is no reason why it shouldn't at least try to fire. I recently started a 1.6 gti which had been stood for 23 years, and after quite a bit of work (new metering head, injectors, fuel tank, pump, filter, plugs, cap, arm, leads, head re-build and a cambelt) she fired up on the key ;)

Happy days, now running after help from Ian Limb.     Found timing was way off the mark and and dizzy couldnt be adjusted far enough to get it near. Happy bunny now  :)
