1.1 Fuel tank > Facet Red Top

Ive connected my 1.1 feed hose to my Red top which is mounted where the GTI pump would be, so close to the tank, but it cant suck the fuel down. Ive tested the pump and it works fine. I would have thought fuel would have just pissed out but I can't even suck it down myself! More than 1/4 tank in there so would have thought enough?

Any ideas?

If you remove the outlet pipe from the tank the fuel should freely flow out, if it dose not then the fuel pickup inside the tank must be really blocked. Lift the rear bench and remove the access panel fixed with 3 small screws, this will give you access to the top of the tank and the fuel level sender. Remove the sender unit and look into the tank with a torch. I would think that the bottom of the tank is full of dirt and rust particles blocking the outlet.Be very careful when removing the fuel sender as fuel vapour is very flamable. You will have to drain the tank to clean it, or remove the tank from the car to clean it.

Sorted now cheers, put another can of fuel in and then sucked pipe!
