Wolfsburg steering wheel wireing. help please.

i have a 79 gti with wolfsburg steering wheel. the horn didnt work so ive now got a current to it but noticed when i took the horn cover off the wire to the horn is connected to the wheel but when it gets near the horn push the end is missing on the wire. i cant see where on the horn push it should connect to so any help or pics would be appreciated.

id assume it would be on the brass coloured contact to the bottom right? if so maybe the spade end has snapped off

Yeah I thought that but nothing obvious that I can see where it's snapped off so wondered if it was connected another way. Thanx for the reply, sorted it and seems to be working!!!

Do you mind if I ask how you got round this? have the same problem at the moment.

I tried tucking it behind the brass contacts, but it comes out again.

Thank you

am having "challenges" getting mine sorted too and have made new brass contacts , that works fine but the correct springs are missing n that proving to be the issue now ,very disappointing when you have a series 1 car and the price of a steering wheel is what it is

on the end of the wire I crimped a small earth terminal on it. i then with a small screw driver lifted the brass contact piece from one side of the mounting (its where it connect to the rubber horn push). On that part there a small nipple so i put the earth terminal under the nipple and then secured it back into its locating rubber. ....its held and been working great.
