Wiring sizes

Im needing o make new battery - starter cables and renew the cables that go to the alternator, what size of wire do i need to get to do this?

Not had a propper read of this lately so don't know if helps or not?

The haynes wiring diagrams specify the gauge of wires used. Should include the wiring for battery etc.

Thanks guys, never thought the haynes manual would give wire sizes ops:

16mm2+ from battery to fuse box and alternator 4mm2 for headlights and 1-2.5mm2 for everything else.
