wiring loom

hi, im looking for an interior wiring loom for my late 84 cabriolet but im not sure if any loom will do or does it have to be year specific.

i noticed one on ebay that is from an 82 cabriolet that has a rev counter and im not sure if that would work

What damage does your old one have?

I had a slightly damaged GTI loom but transferred the important parts over to a new basic Golf C loom

its pretty much all melted together due to some condensation interacting with some cut wires
oh yeah its a gti too…just in case thats important

84 is likely to be the later blade fusebox which means it needs to be from a later cabrio, 82 will likely be the ceramic fusebox type. also note over the years the dash switches changed so if possible make sure the loom comes with the switches. though can chop n splice old switch plugs to the new loom as the wire colours should match.

if its a carby you can use either carb or injection cab rear loom, if its a injection you need injection loom really, but it would be possible to chop the pump wires out of your old loom if they're undamaged
