wipers very slow

hi
can anyone help me the speed of my wipers  seem very slow is this normal i had a MK2 years ago they were slow but not as slow as these can anyone shed some light on my problem thanks kurt :dontknow:

A mod I find that helps is fitting a mk 2 wiper motor, wiring almost identical.
I think 1 wire not used
a bit more work but i've fitted a mk4 motor to my mk 1 trackday car

You can upgrade to a MK2 golf motor - think there's a how to here somewhere?

otherwise, you can strip, clean and grease the spindles the wipers run on (Strip the whole lot, not just clean the pit poking up in front of the windscreen) and this should make a difference too
