wiper problem (not parking)

i dont have a single wiper but do have similar prob. As you say, intermittent - fine. on constant - the wipers park themselves a good few inches above where they should be. I've just always flicked it onto intermittent before I turn them off.

Sorry, dont know the solution but would be interested if someone does.

Hi I've got this same problem after my mk3 wiper motor conversion, I have also changed the stalk and the relay, was a solution found for this problem?

Well I think this is solved, I re-soldered my connections and all is working fine now so looks like a loose connection

If it's any help to anyone I used a new mk3 motor for my conversion and therefore did not have the mk3 plug and loom to connect into my original loom. After much trawling I managed to figure out the colour coding to connect to the motor plug - as follows.

Pin 1 = Brown (Earth)
Pin 2 = Green
Pin 3 = Green / Black
Pin 4 = Green / Yellow
Pin 5 = Black / Grey

Is the motor a straight fit?
My motor had packed up and looking to change it.

Hi yes very easy to fit, of course the new motor doesn't come with the bracket that fits to the bulk head, it seems pretty solid but I may mock up a bracket just so it doesn't stress the panel that the wipers fit to. Here's a picture of the new motor fitted to the linkage:

the replacement motors sit on the linkage a little differently but there are no issues with clearance

Hi mark from classic Vw parts on this forum does a kit with a motor and plug and play wiring loom for around 35 pounds you can have modern wipers in about half an hour. Have it on my car awesome bit of kit.
