Whats this switch for?
I would like top tap into your pool on knowledge again if I may!
On the dashboard surround just below the handbrake light I have a small round switch which at the moment operates the horn(some cowbow did it proir to me owning it) which is obviously wrong, I can move the horn back to the wheel but I'm intrigued to find out what this switch does from standard. I know it's original as I have seen the picture in the owners manual but it does not tell me what it does!
Any info would be greatfully received
Thanks :

I will try and get a photo sorted later this evening!
It's definately not the dimmer because the dimmer is below or above the switch for the lights and is working fine. This is actually below the red brake light and is a push on push off type switch. Anyway I will try to get a picture uploaded tonight
Thanks again

It sounds like you have a push switch added which you can buy at most electronic shops, such as Maplins. The switch was probably added as a desperate measure to get the thing working. You will probably find that the horn won't work on the steering wheel.

If your horn won't work from the steering wheel, check that the steering wheel is earthed. (obviously check fuses first.) You'll probably find that the earth strap from the body to the steering rack has broken away.

Thanks guy's for all your helpful suggestetions. I had a look at it over the week end and I have now rewired the horn back to the steering wheel which is great. I'm still not to sure about what this switch is for but all I know is that the dash has been hacked to make it fit so I thnk that the suggestion it was just put there to get it working was pretty spot on.
Just need to get a new dash surround and cover panel now as it does not look to pretty.
Thanks again for all your help
