water temp gauge only... light fine

started the sportline i recently acquired the other day and the temp gauge doesnt move at all..

the light flashes when key turned on stays on for a few seconds then goes out…

i left it running for ten mins but didnt want to run it too long as i couldnt see temp as gauge didnt move..

also fan didnt kick in… but i may not have run it long enough for that..

its the ecu fuel injected sportline cabby on a 91 just for reference

any help greatly appreciated

Fan is fuzed have you looked ?

Temp guage , pull wire off sender put some resistance in the wire , eg a 12v bulb or you will blow the guage and with ignition on earth the sender wire .

Guage should go to full ? If not guage or wiring is faulty , is fuel guage okay ? It shares the same voltage stabilizer .

Yes mate

Voltage stabilizer .

If both temp and fuel gauges don't work it is often a sign of a broken voltage stabilizer on the back of the clocks that supplies a constant 10V to them. Check the supply from it (3 pronged transistor held down with a screw) with a mutlimeter. If it is broken new ones can be bought from GSF or VW.
