Wash,wiper,horn fault all in one

I have a 1983 Gti with a few wiring issues.

The problem I have is the horn wasn't working (turned out to be the earth at the steering rack) but now the front washer comes on when ever the horn is pressed (no horn mind) and when the wipers are switched the the washers come on and the wiper relay goes wild and buzzes as does a small relay with very big pins (number 8 on all the diagrams I have found on here)

A year ago I took the whole car to bits and only got the fuse box back in a fortnight ago so its possible I may have earthed something to and ignition live or something how ever all was well 2 weeks ago and I was just checking everything for the MOT with is monday and all hell broke loose.

Also the wipers don't work, when they are switched on the washer goes instead.

None of the components are dead as have put the direct to battery, all wiper linkages are free and oiled.

If anyone has any suggestions would be great as the Haynes manual is pants. If all else fails ill make a new loom up for the 3.

Doesn't sound good .

Are you sure you have not connected incorrectly , the wiring loom near the stalks on the steering wheel ?
