warning and choke light

my red brake warning light and my yellow choke light dont seem to want to go out!!!
there is nothing wrong with the fluid level or the switch on the reservoir, and the handbrake switch is not faulty or stuck down, but still the light wont go out!!
and!! the yellow choke light comes on, even though the manual choke knob is not even connected up  
the wires are not touching…obviously!!
the choke light goes out for a few seconds if you give the dash/facia a good hard wack! but then comes on again  :evil:

any sugestions on this rubbish and pointless fault?  :dontknow:

I think both of these are bought on by earthing through the switches.
Check that the cables are not trapped to earth somewhere, particularly behind the inst panel. Have you had that out lately?

yer, i had the entire dash out to sort out all the electrical faults, tidy cables, clean earths etc, i managed to get rid of all the faults i had but then that come up, so maybe i nocked something out of place or as you said, trapped something,
