VDO gauges wiring
I've just bought 3 gauges. oil pressure 0-5bar, Volts and a temp gauge.
I realise i need a sender and t-piece for the oil gauge.
Should the temp gauge be water temp or oil temp? Will i need a sender or can it be wired into existing sensors (and still be accurate)?
Would i be right in thinking i can just give the volts gauge an earth and wire it into any ignition live?
Just 1 more question, unrelated to the above. Should the time clock in the main instrument cluster be back lit? once it goes dark i can hardly see it.

Your guages are for oil pressure and oil temp .
You need a new seperate sender unit for the oil Temp and for the pressure guage try
http://www.bigboystoys-uk.com they sell sender units.
Volt meter is just ignition poz and neg , and yes the display should illuminate but MK1 clocks are renowed for being dim .
Cheers……….
