trip computer and heater

cuple questions…  my trip computer works and flicks through the functions but it is no where near accurate, also my heater works but it is stuck on hot and is stuck on the footwell setting. can anyone help me out with any ideas?

Dont know about trip computer, but your heater maybe a knackered switch, have someone move the hot/cold lever on the dash while you watch the switch in the engine bay, (its attatched to one of the water pipes that go to the heater matrix, if your not sure what your looking for). If the cable moves the switches lever, then your switch is probably knackered. This has happened to me before.

The other fault with the blower only diverting through the foot well, will probably be the control cable having come off the lever I would think?

does the speedo work, and does the distance travelled setting match the mechanical trip counter in the speedo

My spedo works yes but the mechanical milige is not the same as the computer…?

ok, the trip computer gets a signal via an electric pulse reader screwed to the back of the speedometer. so i would say either that is faulty or there is a problem with the speedo itself.

do you think its the speedo or the mfa that is wrong?
