Terminal 30 Cicuit?
Hi, I've searched but can't find what is meant by the terminal 30 circuit?
I want to take some IGN and PERM live from the stock fuseboard, preferrably ones that remain ON when cranking the engine.
Looking at the fusebox info, I can't see any info about the 7 pins for the terminal 30 circuit?
Looking at using it to power a seperate fuseboard for several low load applications such as gauges and digi dash, but also some higher power outputs that require up to 50A.
Cheers

that means permanent live feed on most german wiring diagrams
the other important ones are:
15 - coil live (live with ignition AND live when cranking)
X - x-over live (live with ignition but NOT live when cranking)
50 - starter motor live
31 - earth

theres a handy guide in the how2 section on how to read them, once you get your head round em they're good. well, i like them anyway. i had to fix a supra engine loom and i found the jap diagrams very hard to follow

is this the late fusebox with blade fuses? if so plug N is a large single pin spade which is fuel pump live, you want the group of spades on the back labled P for permanent live, and G for ign live. note that not all G pins are ign live to test with a multimeter first

It's the CE1 in that link, 1990 caddy pick-up. I'm after power from circuit 15, so ign live thru cranking.
I will do some probing when I get the wiring back in

simple test to save you probing when cranking, pull the #18 relay out and that'll disable the X circuit. anything left thats ign live is terminal 15

A relay is used to isolate an electrical circuit of the other. Allows control of a low current circuit to make or break a path of high electrical insulation short circuit current. One example where a relay is useful in the car audio is on the antenna or power output of a remote head unit.

Just had a quick squizz and found that I can use a terminal from the P circuit [terminal 30] for Perm live, and terminal 2 or 5 from the G circuit for ignition live whilst cranking!!
Excellent!

Okay… getting on with this.
Trying to wire up fog lights, but cannot find where the power source is to come from. For now I've plugged it into a two pin plug near the fuseboard which has 12V at sidelights but not at headlights, and another wire which has 12v at headlights and none at sidelights.
What is that plug for, and where should I really source power from to have the fog light fused at the fuseboard 17..?
Cheers,.

front fogs are already wired! look behind the header tank for a 2 pin plug with a yellow and brown wire, theres your front fog wiring. just fit a relay in the correct socket (see sticky) and you're away

Hey,
It's not the front, it's the rear I'm doing
Don't have fronts tho!
Oh, and the wiring isn't exactly OE on this truck

ok, why are you not just using the standard rear fog wiring then?
but this is how its wired:
fog switch pin 83 - grey/yellow -> fusebox pin M/1 (fog switch power)
fog switch pin 83a - white/yellow -> fusebox pin B/16 (front fogs)
fog switch pin 83b - grey/white -> fuse above fusebox -> fusebox pin B/2 (rear fog power)
fog switch pin 31 - earth
fusebox pin E/10 - rear foglight bulb
sometimes the fog light power comes from a wire stuffed into the fog light socket on the front of the fusebox instead, or from fusebox pin B/20 if it came with front fogs from the factory (again make sure fog relay is in place)

Hey,
That's what I want to do, use the standard wiring, but I couldn't find which fuse controlled it, or what wire gave the power Like I said about VW wiring diagrams…
K let me check this out…
Switch power, that's power to the illumination, or low current power to switch a relay which uses fog power to go to the bulbs?
This hasn't had it wired in ever!

righto, well the rear fog fuse is above the fusebox on its own, its the one with the grey/white wires
