switch in glovebox
hello. i have just got myself a 91 gti cabro - my first golf. im very pleased.
there a few minor things wrong - the stereo and cig lighter dont work - from looking about on here they share a power source so could be the fuse. will try to work out how to check this from the diagrams.
however i have found a small metal switch in the glovebox - it doesnt appear to do anything but has anyone any idea what it might be/have been for? super turbo booster charge?
cheers

Its definitely non-standard, so there's no way of me telling what it is. Here's a few suggestions though:
1. Turn the switch on, and see what comes on
2. Follow the wiring to the device its connected to.
There's a 90% chance its not connected to anything, though.

I have a similar switch in my cab, but it isn't connected to anything!
My guess would be a switched line to the fuel pump or something to stop people robbing the car. As cabs are pretty easy to steal.

i shall investigate further then. although i suspect it plays no role.
got the stereo working after a play with the fuses. although the ariel doesnt seem to be connected. it goes up an down nicely though.
